The Bi-State Development Agency has allotted approximately $7.4 million to pay for the next round of planning for a north-south MetroLink expansion. The proposed line will run along Jefferson Avenue from Chippewa Street to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency headquarters.
The next phase will include hiring consultants to continue developing the proposal. Contract proposals are due by April 17. Information developed in this next phase will be used when applying for federal funding. Federal funding is projected to cover 60% of the estimated $850 million cost.
